This policy covers personal information collected through brisbanetreecare.com.au by Brisbane Tree Care. It is written to align with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
This is a referral website. The central thing to understand about privacy here is that the enquiry you submit is passed on to an independent tree contractor so that they can contact you and quote your job. That disclosure is the purpose of collecting it.
What is collected
Information you give us. When you submit an enquiry form or call the number on this site, we collect your name, phone number, email address if you provide one, the address or suburb of the property, and whatever you tell us about the job. Photographs you send are included.
Information collected automatically. Standard web server and analytics data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the referring page, the pages you view on this site, and the date and time of your visit. This is used in aggregate to understand how the site is performing.
We do not collect payment details through this website. We do not knowingly collect information from children. We do not collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act, and you should not send any.
Why it is collected and how it is used
Your details are used to respond to your enquiry, to arrange an on-site quote, to pass the job to a contractor who covers your area, and to follow up about that enquiry. Aggregate technical data is used to maintain and improve the website.
You may deal with us anonymously or by pseudonym if you are only asking a general question, but a contractor cannot quote a tree without an address and a way to contact you.
Who it is disclosed to
- Independent tree contractors. Your enquiry, including your contact details and the property address, is provided to one or more contractors so they can quote and carry out the work. Once a contractor holds your details, their own privacy practices apply to their handling of them.
- Service providers. Website hosting, form handling, email and analytics providers who process data on our behalf. Some of these providers operate or store data overseas, which means your information may be held outside Australia.
- Where required by law. To comply with a court order, a law enforcement request or another legal obligation, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of others.
- In a business transfer. If the business or website is sold, your information may transfer with it.
We do not sell your personal information.
