This is a referral website
Brisbane Tree Care operates this website to connect property owners with independent tree contractors working across South East Queensland. We do not perform tree removal, lopping, pruning, stump grinding or any other tree work ourselves. Enquiries submitted here are directed to third-party contractors.
Any agreement for work is made directly between you and the contractor. We are not a party to it.
We do not verify contractors
We do not inspect, audit or verify the licensing, certification, qualifications, insurance, experience or competence of the contractors we refer enquiries to. We expect contractors to represent themselves accurately, but we do not check.
Before any work starts, you should obtain and check directly from the contractor:
- a current certificate of currency for public liability insurance, with the dates,
- confirmation of workers' compensation cover for anyone working on your property,
- the arboricultural qualifications held by whoever is assessing and carrying out the work,
- a written quote setting out the scope, inclusions, exclusions and price, and
- confirmation of who is responsible for obtaining any council approval required.
Where a licence or registration is involved, verify it with the relevant issuing authority rather than accepting a copy at face value. The choosing a contractor page explains what to look for.
Disputes
We are not involved in and take no part in disputes between contractors and customers about scope, price, timing, workmanship, damage or payment. Those matters are to be resolved between the parties, and if necessary through the relevant consumer or tribunal process in Queensland.
Information on this site is general only
The content published here — including service descriptions, cost ranges, species notes, suburb information and summaries of council rules — is general information provided in good faith. It is not professional arboricultural, legal, engineering, financial or insurance advice, and it does not take account of your particular tree, property or circumstances.
We make no warranty that the information is accurate, current or complete. Legislation, local laws and council processes change, and summaries here may fall out of date. Anything published about Brisbane City Council's Natural Assets Local Law, vegetation protection orders, the Significant Landscape Tree Register, or the rules applying in Ipswich, Logan, Redland or Moreton Bay should be confirmed with the relevant council for your specific address before you act on it — see the council rules page for context.
Cost figures published on this site, including those on the cost guide, are indicative ranges to help you budget. They are not quotes, not offers, and not a guarantee of price. Only an on-site assessment produces a price.
Safety
Nothing on this website is instruction to carry out tree work yourself. Tree work causes serious injuries and deaths in Australia every year, standard home and contents insurance generally does not cover you for do-it-yourself tree work, and the risks around stored tension in damaged limbs and proximity to powerlines are not obvious to non-professionals. Never approach or work near a tree in contact with powerlines; contact Energex.
Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Brisbane Tree Care is not liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense — direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential — arising from use of this website, from reliance on information published on it, or from dealings with any contractor referred through it. Nothing here excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
